Emergency Recovery

If you forgot your password and cannot open your secret folder, simply click on the "Forgot your password" link on the password prompt:

It will ask you to enter your license information to verify that you are the person in charge of this software:

Be sure to enter your license information EXACTLY as it appears in the message that you have received from us after you have purchased your license. If you have entered your license information correctly, it will erase the Master Password of MySecretFolder and unprotect your secret folder. After that you can run the configuration utility of MySecretFolder to set up a new Master Password and protect the folder again, if desired.

Note that if you are using MySecretFolder in the evaluation mode and have not entered your license key into the program yet, anyone can use the above link to gain access to your secret folder. To stop unauthorized users from using this utility, you need to purchase a license for continued use of MySecretFolder and enter your license key into the program. After that, only you would be able to reset the password, because it would not let other users to proceed unless they enter your license key into it first.

If you use an older version of MySecretFolder (older than 4.4), you can download and use the following files to achieve the same result. Note that you do NOT need to download these files if you use MySecretFolder version 4.4 or later: the emergency recovery is built-in into such versions.
