If you want to backup the current host name information managed by HostName Commander, use the Backup command of HostName Commander. To display this command click on the little arrow next to the Save Changes button: and then select Backup from the pop-down menu:

You will be prompted to select the file in which to backup the information. After the backup is complete, don't forget to add this file to the backup set of your backup software (please consult your backup software manual for information on how to make it backup specific files.)

Note that Backup command described above saves all host name information currently managed by HostName Commander into the file, including the host names and IP addresses they are mapped onto, their comments, as well as their status (activated or deactivated). However, the options and other settings of HostName Commander are NOT saved by the Backup command. If you want to backup the options, use the Registry Editor to export the appropriate registry key which contain HostName Commander options into a .REG file. (Click here for more information).
