You can use this dialog box as an alternative method of changing the protection settings (such as the attributes and the unlocking password) of files, folders, and filters with Folder Guard. To display this dialog box, select a file, folder, or filter in the Folder Guard window, and press Alt+Enter or choose Attributes - Modify command from the Protect menu. For files and folders (but not for filters) you can also display this dialog box by pressing the Enter key or by double-clicking the file or folder with the mouse. The Attributes dialog box contains the following areas:
Shows the user for whom the attributes of the item are displayed in the Attributes area. You may select any user in this list to modify the attributes of the selected item for a particular user.
Shows the access and visibility attributes of the selected item for the user selected in the User area. The changes to the attributes you make using this dialog box have the same effect as the appropriate commands on the Protect menu. Note that the visibility attributes are not available for the filters.
Press this button to create or change the unlocking password for a file or folder. This command has the same effect as the Unlocking Password command on the Protect menu. Note that this button is not available for filters, or for the My Computer folder.
Press this button to assign the default attributes to the selected item for all users, as well as to erase the unlocking password), if any, for the selected file or folder. This command has the same effect as the Attributes - Reset Folder/File/Filter command on the Protect menu.
