ActiveExit Classic Edition is a set of tools that you can use to:
- Set up a built-in ActiveExit screen saver, that, unlike the regular screensavers, can automatically log off, lock, or shutdown the computer after a period of user inactivity. Unlike the WINEXIT utility, that comes with the Windows NT Resource Kit and provides similar functionality, ActiveExit screen saver offers more options and does not have the bugs of WINEXIT.
- Set up a password to prevent users from logging off or shutting down the computer unnecessarily;
- Install a taskbar icon with quick access to the commands to log off, lock, restart, shut down, or hibernate the computer.
- Set up a program of your choice that would automatically run every time before the end of the Windows session. You may find this option useful, for example, if you have a legacy program that requires to be manually closed before exiting Windows, or if you want to do a particular task automatically each time before you exit Windows;
- Display custom messages to the users, with or without the countdown bars that show the number of seconds remaining before the default action will be taken;
- Disable the unwanted user responses to the prompts, and even prevent users from manually removing the program and bypassing its restrictions.
